Youth Ministries started a small group for teenage girls. It was a real BLAST for the girls that attended and for me. I remember (believe it or not) how hard it was to be a teen! My personal desire was to help the girls of our church withstand some of the pressures they face with the protection and power of Christ in their lives.
The bible study was held for 8 weeks at church and Remember When Tea Room (thanks to Betsy Hoffman). After a delicious dinner, we watched a video, made by the singing group, Point of Grace. It discussed common teen problems, and gave suggestions on how to deal with them through scripture. We then discussed topics (with tea and dessert) on a variety of subjects, such as: gossip, self-esteem, finding a mentor, shaping our lives to be more like Jesus, and more.
We are hoping to continue the group after the holidays! I would especially like to thank Betsy Hoffman for her help. It was a great joy for both of us to work with Becca, Summer, Caitlin, Brittany, Megan, and Laura. It is our prayer that they grow as girls of grace. Any teenage girl is welcome to attend!
